Grade 3 Pipe Band Project with NWJPB and WSPB named

The leadership of the joint project between Northwest Junior Pipe Band and White Spot Pipe Band intended to give the most talented players from both bands an opportunity to compete at a more challenging competition level has been named "Northwest-White Spot United Pipe Band."

The leadership agreed the band would plan for a trip to Scotand in August 2011 for the World Pipe Band Championships, and set combined band practice times to occur on the same dates as the British Columbia Pipers' Association mini-gatherings as well as the Washington Pipers' Association mini-gatherings.

Fundraising for the Scotland trip will be managed independently by each organization, except for a small fund that will be managed in the name of the Northwest/White Spot United Pipe Band for competition winnings, which will be used for incidental expenses, and will be divided between the bands based on the number of players from each organization to help offset costs of the Scotland trip.
